Alright, well you note I'm behind on some of my other duties here. Project pages are behind due to disagreements on color scheme (me and the funckens fight like old hens, it gets violent).  And the shop, yes yes the shop... Huge fucking project, and the details are ironed, we just have to link the paypal account and well start rolling quick, thanks for your patience!

In the interim I designed a new myspace page for the funcks, and I must say, what a fucking nightmare it is hacking these myspace band pages. feck... anyway, got it dialed, and its super hacky. It is disturbing to code in such a disgusting fashion... But its necessary. I am proud to say it has 461 html validation errors and is the worst piece of shit i've ever built at a css/html level.

Check it out here, and if you note any display bugs let me know!

Looks quite nice. It is very "big" though - wouldn't want to be viewing it on a smaller screen.

heh, do you just mean header size or total length or overall sizing of elements? width is 800 pix, the minimum size. The header ad itself is about half the size of standard myspace ads that musicians put up for upcoming releases.

most myspace can get quite huge... here's a standard bigger layout by some talented guy:

The fact I have a 30" at 2560x1600 doesnt help, but I am always at my girls computer testing in micro land.  Cheesy Thanks for the feedback.

speaking of myspace pages for musicians, too bad autechre got rid of their super glitch page, it was amazing, dont know if anyone here saw that. their current one is ultimate minimal.

http://www.myspace.com/myslb

it gets quite big on hovers.  Cheesy Cheesy

edit: checking here at work and its just fine to me on small monitors. also much smaller than most div overlay myspace pages for musicians.

I am surrounded by Dark Matter at the moment.

It first appeared in a book (A Brief History of Time), then in the name of works by a brother/sister video artist duo called Soda_Jerk ("They are currently working on 'The Dark Matter Cycle' of videos, exploring the intersection of death, temporality and cinema."), and I see it on the new funkenspace and the myslb page.

My 'Dark Matter' email to Soda_Jerk below.

Hello Soda_Jerk / Dan / Dominique,

I just discovered you via a post on Skynoise (http://www.skynoise.net/2010/02/02/chimp-video-news-of-the-world/).

Interesting works you've created. I'm currently reading 'A Brief History of Time' by Stephen Hawking, so am curious about the following information at the end of your bio page:

"They are currently working on 'The Dark Matter Cycle' of videos, exploring the intersection of death, temporality and cinema."

Evidently you mean a different kind of 'dark matter' than Hawking writes about, but my father also passed away just one month ago, so it forms an unexpected nexus for me. There is also a 'cinema' connection, in that one of the last things he'd bought for himself was a portable DVD player to watch movies in hospital (he was expecting to be there about three weeks after surgery) and the family gave him the big James Bond DVD boxed set as a Christmas gift on our last time eating out to dinner before the operation. He didn't get to watch a single one, though, spending most of the last three weeks of his life under sedation before a severe and tragic complication on new year's day that changed a course of gradual improvement to sudden rapid decline, emergency procedures, the whole family gathered at the hospital and later going to my parents' home to wait for news. A plan to return to the hospital in the morning was revised after everyone left for their respective homes with a call from the hospital and last-minute rush back to the hospital for mum to be at his side, arriving barely minutes before his death.

I'm not writing about this to upset you, so I hope that you aren't upset. My original interest was just that you were into video art and are from Sydney (since I'm interested in visuals, VJing around the place on occasion), and came to this other observation later. So, on the original intention, you can see some of what I do at:

While I'm completely off the subject... here's an interesting track I've just discovered this morning...

I also have been into dark matter for some time, studied it quite intensely back in the day. I even released my own dark matter session back in the day, but its a nightmare shranz mix. Did consider suing the funckens but let them off on it.

One of my favorite authors of all time, have his whole library here, is Robert Anton Wilson. He had great perspectives on the nature of synchronicity and coincidence...

Great track, enjoyed that.  Smiley

Condolences spxl on your loss and all positive energy your way...
